Future developments road map
Our vision for how BK1 development will proceed is described below with
the usual caveat that this vision is subject to change.
Version 0.2.0 The dogfooding version
Due for completion: End of Q2 - 2010
This version aims to contain everything the developers need to use BK1 for
their own bookkeeping (and a few features you may find useful too). These tasks
are very fine grained as we are working on them at the moment.
- Document application image requirements for graphic expert;
- PDF shell file associations;
- PDF browser file associations;
- Drag and drop files onto BK1 to import;
- QIF Import & Export;
- One instance open at the time (locking problems with the fb file);
- Install to check for running instance;
- Link to help;
- Link to mainling list;
- Link to online forum;
- Link to tell us what you think;
- Prompt user to provide email address - useful when PDF conversion fails;
- Activate the inbuilt PDF viewer;
- Tidy up the install erso binaries are in the bin directory; etc;
- Version checking infrastructure to notify user when new version is ready;
- Document website design requirements for website expert;
Version 0.3.0 Extend the PDF - BK1 conversion engine to handle as many bank statements as possible
Due for completion: End of Q3 - 2010
We currently handle conversion of three Commonwealth Bank statements to
BK1 format. The engine that manages this conversion will be extended to handle
all the major statement types.
Version 0.4.0 Complete basic functionality
Due for completion: End of Q4 - 2010
